Give yourself the gift of space!
December 3, 2021
Hosting, entertaining or having guests over to stay, the festive season often triggers the question as to how we can make more of our homes. Wouldn’t it be great to totally transform the way you’re living and no longer be tiptoeing around the problems?
The saying “A dog is for life, not just for Christmas” also applies to an extension, conversion or refurbishment – all of them are a gift that’ll last for many years to come.
An extension is a great way to create extra space, a refurbishment maximises existing space and with a little creativity and clever design, your loft could be transformed from a dark, empty void into a light, airy living space.
No doubt, you’ll know exactly what currently does and does not work in your home and you may even have a vision of what you’re aiming for but you just can’t get it wrapped up?! That’s where Cube comes in with a complete and tailored service that takes all the little details into account.
We can design, manage and build your dreamy home development to suit your budget. A little browse through our website or Instagram account is a great starting point to find inspiration. There are plenty of project examples for you to explore: from extensions, refurbishments, and loft conversions to testimonials from clients, so that you don’t have to take our word for it.
Our lovely and talented project photographer Mary Beth Sutter beautifully captures the results of our work which you can view on our website and Social Media accounts. Her role is certainly tricky and often brings some unforeseen challenges:
“In a finished loft conversion in Strawberry Hill I was keen to get a wide angle photograph of the unique and stunning slimline framed sliding doors. In order to achieve this, I had to ask for help moving an enormous leather sofa. But in the end it was definitely worth it for the view”, Mary Beth recalls.
With Christmas just around the corner, it’s also nice to look back at some big magical projects we’ve delivered together with our team:
“The kitchen certainly plays a huge role during the festive period as ‘tis the season to entertain”, says Cube’s Marketing Manager Jane Henden. She continues “One project that clearly stands out is an open plan kitchen that seamlessly combines living and dining without compromising the overall traditional feel of the house. It was part of a wonderful rear extension in Hinchley Wood and most customers pause when they browse our portfolio of projects. I can see why. Who wouldn’t want a kitchen like this?”
If you wish it was Christmas every day, you may find yourself exploring a mesmerising refurbishment project we completed over in Dulwich. “We completely transformed this Arts and Crafts house by reconfiguring the ground floor and using specialist materials such as terrazzo, reclaimed parquet flooring and Crittall-style interior doors. A house that’ll have your eyes sparkling just as much as the little ones at Christmas”, Jane says.
Over the years there have been many magical moments, including dogs and cats wandering into Mary Beth’s shots but one project remains special to her: “I thought the rear extension in Walton-on-Thames was absolutely stunning. The external design incorporates an overhung roof and white render compliments the grey aluminium frames of the doors. Such a clean, contemporary finish – probably one of the most exciting architectural projects that I’ve been able to photograph.”
“All I want for Christmas…” is naturally followed by something different for all of us but if you’re keen to make the most of your property for the future and for your family, we’re here to turn your dreams into reality.
Wishing you happiness and good health this festive season from all of us here at Cube!
