Kingston – Victorian house renovation
“We have just completed on a full top to bottom refurbishment of a Victorian house in Kingston upon Thames. Cube provided a full service to us from initial designs, getting planning, demolition, reconstruction, project management, and decorating. We have dug down in the existing basement to get a WC and utility space come plant room, added a single-storey rear extension, knocked through the downstairs to create a zoned open-plan living space, and added a piggyback loft conversion for a further bedroom, dressing room, and en-suite.
The house was in a terrible state of repair when we bought it, including trees growing through the rear windows and damp crumbling plaster everywhere. Cube stripped it back to the bare brick and started to build out our vision for the house, with lots of consultation and listening to our ideas to make the dream come true. Rafal and his team were dedicated and professional; our neighbours even commented on their cleanliness and how polite the whole team were. They now comment on what a great job has been done – even a passer-by who walks down the street stopped me to remark on how beautiful the house now looks.
Sally, our project manager was great at keeping things moving along; always on site for a weekly catch up and she was a schedule’s dream, helping to coordinate various elements of the build for us with Rafal and external service providers. We were pretty much on schedule with Cube’s estimate for overall time spent on the project, which with so much work was not guaranteed!”
