Rear extension and internal refurbishment – East Sheen
Project summary
Our East Sheen customer’s 1930s semi-detached house already had a rear extension but it was no longer fulfilling their needs. Cube restructured the ground floor and stripped it completely, demolished the existing rear structure and built a brand new extension.
During construction, our build team found that the concrete floor wasn’t insulated, so they removed it and laid a new insulated floor to fully comply with current building regulations. The ground floor was also professionally damp-proofed and underfloor heating was installed throughout.
Three large roof lights and sliding doors were fitted to flood the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area with natural light. The improved layout now accommodates a convenient cloakroom and a “secret” utility room: a unique feature concealed behind a door styled like a kitchen unit, providing extra functionality without disrupting the flow of the main space.
