Rear extension and refurbishment – Kew
Project summary
Multiple small living and dining areas on the ground floor of our customer’s semi-detached family home in Kew had their day. The family of four was ready for change and envisaged a clean, open-plan space with designated zones for cooking, eating, working and watching TV.
Cube redesigned the existing layout, removed some internal walls and built a rear extension to form one large open-plan living area. A modern Shaker-style kitchen with cupboards along one wall, together with a kitchen island and separate pantry cupboard, perfectly combine contemporary style with practicality.
Plenty of natural light now shines in through three Velux windows and two sets of Crittall-style French doors, creating a bright, inviting kitchen/diner and family room with seamless access to the newly established rear patio. The entire extension feels uplifting and fresh, with the added luxury of underfloor heating freeing up additional space otherwise taken up by radiators.
Further convenience was added by way of a new cloakroom and a refurbished loft shower room. Decoration throughout rounded off the project nicely.
