Semi-detached 4-storey family home — Wandsworth

Project Summary

Our Wandsworth client wanted to transform their large semi-detached 4-storey house into a stunning family home. Cube answered their brief with a refurbishment from basement to top floor:

We instructed a specialist to take care of tanking the lower ground floor, a method used to prevent moisture from seeping through the floor and walls thus making the basement watertight. We then started laying down zoned underfloor heating, allowing our client to heat specific areas of their house independently of each other, and finally finished the floor with a layer of concrete.

Special touches were added to the versatile family area, practical laundry & utility space and internal double height entrance hall by fitting a mix of Crittall doors and double height glazed doors which was again a specialist job.

On the ground floor, we took down a number of walls and installed complex steel beams to support the original structure of the house. This opened up space to accommodate an entrance hall with doubled height, a large kitchen/diner and a useful cloakroom. The upper floors also got their fair share of TLC including rewiring and updated plumbing, and one of the highlights of this refurbishment project has to be the beautiful master suite: white Victorian-style double doors open up to a dressing room with a freestanding bath as the focal point and an en-suite tucked to one side. An additional four bedrooms, and two family bathrooms complete this remarkable refurbishment project which has maximised our client’s home potential.
